Relative Claims Responsibility for Deaths of Indian Couple and Son in the US

An Indian student has been arrested in New Jersey, US, for allegedly murdering his grandparents and uncle. The suspect, 23-year-old Om Brahmbhatt, was found at the residence when police arrived at the scene. The authorities have stated that there was no threat to the public and this was not a random act of violence. Om had recently moved to New Jersey to study and had been living with his relatives. Some family members mentioned that he had come to the US at the insistence of his maternal grandfather. After the shooting, Om called the police and when asked who did it, he responded, “It might be me.” He has been taken into custody and charged with three counts of first-degree murder. The crime was committed using a handgun that Om had purchased online. The investigation is ongoing, and Om is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Facility. Om confessed to shooting his grandparents and uncle while they were sleeping, but the motive behind the crime remains unclear.
