Dex Carvey, the eldest son of actor and comedian Dana Carvey, has tragically passed away at the age of 32 from a reported drug overdose. The news was confirmed by a statement from his parents, Dana and Paula Carvey. They described the incident as a “terrible tragedy” and expressed their deep sorrow over the loss of their beloved son.

In the statement, the Carvey’s highlighted Dex’s many talents, including music, art, filmmaking, and comedy, which he pursued with great passion. They also mentioned his love for his family, friends, and girlfriend, Kaylee. Dex was described as a beautiful person, and his handmade birthday cards were cherished by his loved ones. The Carveys expressed that they will miss him forever.

Authorities were alerted to the situation when Dex’s girlfriend called from their house around 10 PM Pacific time on Wednesday. They found him unresponsive in the bathroom, and despite their efforts to revive him, they were unsuccessful. The Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s office has scheduled an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Dex Carvey had previously opened for his father’s 2016 Netflix special, “Straight White Male.” Dana and Paula Carvey also have another son, Thomas, who is a 30-year-old aspiring comedian.
