Report: Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Face Possible Removal of Royal Titles Amid Race Scandal

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could potentially be stripped of their royal titles due to a race scandal, as per a report. A UK lawmaker has suggested that a “Bill in Parliament” should be introduced to remove the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal titles, according to Newsweek.

Conservative Member of Parliament, Bob Seely, expressed the belief that the UK government should consider the “nuclear option” in response to the couple’s actions, which he feels have disrespected the institution of the monarchy. Seely plans to propose an amendment that would revoke Harry and Meghan’s royal titles. He stated, “In the next couple of weeks, I shall present a Bill in Parliament to strip the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of their royal titles.”

Seely clarified that he is not a Republican and supports the monarchy, but he believes that the recent feud between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal family warrants serious consideration by Parliament and the Privy Council. He said, “My aim is simple: if someone doesn’t want to be royal, that is a decision we respect – but they should not keep the titles and privileges if they trash an institution that plays an important part in our nation’s life.” Seely also expressed skepticism about the Sussexes’ denial of involvement in claims made in Omid Scobie’s book, stating that few people believe such denials.

The controversy arises from Scobie’s book “Endgame,” which alleges that two unnamed royals expressed concerns about the skin color of Harry and Meghan’s son, Prince Archie. However, the Dutch version of the book was quickly withdrawn from sale due to a “translation error.”
