Revanth Reddy Set to Be Sworn in as Telangana Chief Minister Today, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi Confirmed as Attendees

Telangana Chief Minister-elect Anumula Revanth Reddy is set to take oath as the state’s new CM on Thursday, following his party’s victory in the recent Assembly elections. The swearing-in ceremony for the 56-year-old leader will be held at LB Stadium in Hyderabad at 1.04 PM. State Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari and DGP Ravi Gupta held a meeting with senior officials to discuss arrangements for the ceremony, which is expected to be attended by around one lakh people.

Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi and party leader Rahul Gandhi are likely to attend the event. Revanth Reddy, emphasizing the formation of a “people’s government” that will prioritize democratic and transparent governance, has extended an open invitation to the public to attend.

Media reports suggest that Congress MLA-elect and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka may take oath as deputy chief minister. CPI General Secretary D Raja is also expected to attend the ceremony as per Revanth Reddy’s invitation, as CPI is a pre-poll ally of Congress.

State DGP Ravi Gupta reassured that suitable arrangements have been made to minimize inconvenience to the public, including traffic management and security measures for VVIPs attending the event. Revanth Reddy was named the leader of Congress Legislature Party (CLP) and the next chief minister of Telangana by the AICC leadership on Tuesday.

In the recent Assembly polls, Congress emerged victorious, defeating the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) by securing 64 out of the total 119 seats. The party’s pre-poll ally, CPI, also won one seat.
