Telangana Congress Chief Revanth Reddy To Challenge KCR In Elections
The Congress party has released its third list of candidates for the upcoming Telangana assembly elections. In a surprising move, the party has fielded its state unit chief Revanth Reddy to contest against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao from the Kamareddy assembly constituency.
This will be the second seat on which Mr. Reddy, who is currently the sitting MP from the Malkajgiri parliamentary constituency, will be contesting. The Congress has also made changes to its previously announced candidates in this list.
Ade Gajender will now replace Vannela Ashok to contest from the Boath-ST seat, while Tudi Megha Reddy has been nominated from Wanaparthy instead of Gillela Chinna Reddy. With these changes, only three more candidates are yet to be declared by the Congress party, which aims to take power away from the ruling BRS in the southern state.
Revanth Reddy will also be contesting from the Kodangal assembly seat, and CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu has been fielded from the Madhira-SC seat. The announcement for these candidates was made on October 15.
Furthermore, the party has chosen its sitting Lok Sabha MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy to contest from the Huzurnagar assembly constituency. Currently representing the Nalgonda Lok Sabha seat in Telangana, he will now vie for a position in the state assembly.
