SBCS reports: Two individuals from IE brutally kill Husky by tying it to a tree and repeatedly striking it with a machete

Two men in the Inland Empire area of California are facing charges of animal cruelty after allegedly tying a Husky to a tree and brutally attacking it until it died. The incident occurred on November 14th in San Bernardino, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Witnesses reported the disturbing attack, which took place around 3 p.m. in the 2200 Block of W. 3rd Avenue. Leobardo Martinez, a 68-year-old resident of San Bernardino, was quickly identified as one of the perpetrators. However, authorities are still working to identify the second suspect involved.

The motive for the attack seems to be retaliation for the Husky allegedly killing Martinez’s fowl on his property. This act of extreme cruelty resulted in the death of the helpless dog.

Martinez has since been arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center on charges of felony cruelty to animals. He is currently in custody with bail set at $30,000.
