Single Mother Evicted and Stuck with Damages After Pointless Standoff

A single mother of two in Stillwater, Oklahoma, is now homeless after a standoff took place at her residence. Brittany Fent, who had been living in the home for three years, pleaded with law enforcement to use her keys and search the property, as she insisted that the suspect they were looking for, Lewis Bearden III, was not inside. However, her pleas went unanswered, and the standoff concluded with no one found in the home. Fent has now been informed by management that she has been evicted and will be held responsible for any damages that occurred during the incident.

According to the Stillwater Police, they received information from Lincoln County Officials that Bearden, who had felony arrest warrants for burglary and robbery, was inside Fent’s home. Fent, who had previously dated Bearden but ended the relationship over a month ago, expressed her frustration at being ignored by law enforcement and now facing eviction and financial burdens.

During the standoff, Fent’s two young daughters were with their grandparents and were not present when the damage occurred. However, Fent revealed that the home suffered extensive damage, including broken windows, a ripped-off door, destroyed beds, scattered clothes, damaged walls, and a broken TV.

Despite Fent’s insistence that law enforcement could have entered the home without causing such destruction, the damage had already been done. The Stillwater Police are continuing their search for Bearden, warning that he may be dangerous.

As Fent and her children search for temporary housing with her sister-in-law, she worries about her financial situation, as she lives paycheck to paycheck and does not have the means to recover from this incident. She is heartbroken and unsure of how to explain the situation to her kids.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about Bearden’s whereabouts to call 911 and avoid approaching him directly. Meanwhile, Fent and her children are left to pick up the pieces and find stability in their lives once again.
