A Florida woman was taken into custody by police after she allegedly attempted to harm an elderly woman over a thermostat adjustment, as reported by deputies. Breiland Springer was charged with battery on a person over the age of 65 following the incident that unfolded in Palm Beach County on November 2. According to the arrest affidavit from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a residential area at around 4:45 p.m. in response to a domestic disturbance. The victim stated that she had adjusted the thermostat around 1 a.m. when Springer approached her from behind and forcefully grabbed her face. The woman told deputies that Springer had attempted to rip her face off, but she managed to escape. The relationship between the two women is unclear, although authorities have categorized the incident as domestic in nature. The affidavit mentioned that no visible marks or bruises were observed on the victim’s face by the responding deputies. Springer denied the allegations made against her. Following her arrest, she was taken to jail but has since been released.
