Texas Police Report: Child Fatally Injured by Neighbor’s Brutal Baseball Bat Attack

A 6-year-old boy in Texas has tragically passed away two months after allegedly being attacked with a baseball bat by a neighbor. The child’s father, Arturo Diaz, confirmed the devastating news in a GoFundMe post. Jeremy Diaz, who was severely injured in the September 11th attack at their home in Georgetown, died on November 14th.

According to Arturo Diaz, he discovered his son’s lifeless body when he went to check on him in the morning. Despite efforts to resuscitate him, Jeremy could not be saved. The father expressed his sorrow, stating that his son had fought for over 60 days and showed signs of improvement, but ultimately faced insurmountable odds.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office charged 39-year-old Daniel Logan with aggravated assault and intentionally causing serious bodily injury to a child in connection with the incident. The attack, which occurred in the Diaz family’s home, involved Logan forcibly entering and using a baseball bat to assault two individuals, including Jeremy. Authorities described the incident as a “random attack.” Logan is also accused of injuring his own mother during the assault.

Arturo Diaz vividly recalled the horrific scene, stating that he found his 6-year-old son lying in a pool of blood with a shattered skull. Court documents obtained by KEYE revealed that Jeremy suffered multiple fractures to his brain and extensive brain swelling consistent with blunt force trauma.

Initially, the child’s condition had been improving, but it suddenly took a turn for the worse on Monday. Arturo Diaz described the subsequent hours as “hell on earth.” Unfortunately, Jeremy succumbed to his injuries the following morning.

Describing his son as a wonderful and loving child who practiced the Golden Rule, Arturo Diaz expressed his pride in him. Authorities have not yet announced if Logan will face upgraded charges.
