Tinder Date Turns Fatal: 28-Year-Old Man Tragically Murdered in Jaipur

A 28-year-old man named Dushyant Sharma was tragically killed in Jaipur after going on a Tinder date. The story began when Dushyant matched with a woman named Priya Seth on the popular dating app. The two seemed to have similar interests and had been talking on the app for three months before deciding to meet in person. Priya invited Dushyant to a rented accommodation, and he agreed to the proposal.

However, their relationship was built on lies from the start. Dushyant, who was actually married, had been posing as a wealthy businessman named Vivan Kohli on Tinder. On the other hand, Priya had only engaged in conversation with Dushyant with the intention of kidnapping him and extorting money.

With the help of two accomplices named Dikshant Kamra and Lakshya Walia, Priya successfully kidnapped Dushyant as soon as he arrived at the house. However, they soon realized that Dushyant was not as rich as he had claimed when they made a ransom call to his family. After the family failed to pay Rs 10 lakh, the accused brutally killed Dushyant by stabbing him multiple times and smothering him with a pillow.

Dushyant’s father, Rameshwar Prasad Sharma, received a distressing call from his son’s phone where Dushyant pleaded for his life and asked for the ransom to be paid. Rameshwar recounted the incident during an interview with activist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj. He explained that Priya snatched the phone and began abusing him, demanding the money. Rameshwar informed her that he couldn’t afford Rs 10 lakh but could arrange Rs 3 lakh by 4 pm.

Priya had taken Dushyant’s debit card and forced him to share the pin. After Rameshwar deposited Rs 3 lakh, the accused used the card to withdraw Rs 20,000. Fearing that their crime would be exposed, the three perpetrators decided to kill Dushyant.

During the trial, Priya Seth confessed to the crime. She revealed that Dushyant had lied about his real name and wealth, and that she and her live-in partner Dikshant had planned the kidnapping as a means to obtain money to pay off Dikshant’s debt of Rs 21 lakhs. They intended to kidnap someone, demand a ransom, and then murder the victim.

When asked why they killed Dushyant even though the money was transferred, Priya explained that they had already killed him before the money arrived. They attempted to strangle him and smothered him with a pillow, but he survived. Dikshant then instructed Priya to get a knife, which he used to slit Dushyant’s throat.

The Jaipur court has now sentenced Priya Seth, Dikshant Kamra, and Lakshya Walia to life imprisonment for the murder of Dushyant Sharma. Sessions Judge Ajit Kumar Hinger stated that the prosecution presented sufficient evidence to establish the facts of the case.
