In our phone testing process, we thoroughly evaluate every aspect of the device, including its features, design, performance, cameras, battery life, and overall value. Our initial review is regularly updated to account for new software updates and to compare the phone against competitors like Apple, Samsung, Google, and OnePlus.
Photography is a crucial aspect of modern smartphones, so we extensively test the camera capabilities by capturing pictures and videos in various settings and lighting conditions. We also explore any new camera modes or tools introduced by the phone, such as Action mode or Unblur photo.
To assess battery life, we conduct tests in different scenarios. We observe how long the phone lasts during a typical day of use and evaluate its performance during intensive tasks like video calls, media streaming, and gaming. Additionally, we conduct a video playback test, which may be included in an update to the initial review.
Performance is evaluated using benchmarking apps, as well as our personal experiences with the phone. We pay special attention to graphics and animations, assessing their smoothness and responsiveness. We also examine the phone’s ability to switch between orientations quickly and the speed at which the camera app opens and is ready to take a photo. Processor-heavy tasks like photo editing, video exporting, and gaming are performed to determine if the newer version of the phone offers significant upgrades compared to previous models.
