Tragic Incident Unfolds in Punjab as Roof Crashes Down on Woman and Child While Walking Down the Street

Three people were injured in Chandigarh’s Manimajra when a section of a house collapsed on them. The incident took place while the old house was being demolished and was captured on CCTV. The video footage shows the roof of the house suddenly giving way as a woman and two children were passing by. The woman is in critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment at Chandigarh’s PGIMER hospital. The two seven-year-old children are also being closely monitored as they receive medical care at a hospital.

Following the release of the accident video, the police have filed a case against the landlord and the contractor. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the collapse and the responsibilities of those involved.

This incident is not the first of its kind. In October, a tragic incident occurred in Lucknow where a two-month-old girl and a man lost their lives while sleeping, as the floor of an under-construction building’s basement collapsed. Additionally, 14 laborers were injured in the incident.

The authorities are now focused on ensuring the safety of buildings under construction or demolition to prevent such accidents from happening in the future.
