Four students were killed and 55 others were injured in a stampede at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in Kochi, Kerala. The incident occurred during a tech fest where singer Nikhita Gandhi was performing at an open-air auditorium on the campus. Initially, entry was limited to those with passes, but when it started raining, people waiting outside rushed into the auditorium for shelter, resulting in a stampede. Kerala Health Minister Veena George confirmed that two boys and two girls were pronounced dead upon arrival at Kalamassery Medical College in Kochi. Currently, 55 injured students are receiving treatment at various hospitals.
