Earlier this week, Carlson revealed that he was in Moscow, the capital of Russia, for the purpose of this interview. This revelation was accompanied by a video posted by Carlson himself, with the iconic Kremlin in the background, where he announced the upcoming interview with Putin. The main purpose of this interview, as clarified by the journalist, is to rectify the lack of knowledge among Americans regarding the current affairs and events transpiring in Russia and Ukraine.
The interview was confirmed by the spokesperson for the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, yesterday. He verified that Putin indeed granted an interview to Carlson, which added to the anticipation and credibility of the upcoming publication.
