Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir is known for his fearlessness and willingness to take on any challenge. Whether it was on the field during his playing days or off the field as a coach, Gambhir never backed down. In a recent incident during the Indian Premier League (IPL), Gambhir found himself in the midst of a heated exchange with Virat Kohli over a perceived wrong challenge against his team’s player, Naveen ul Haq. The incident went viral, showcasing Gambhir’s fiery nature.

Another incident involving Gambhir took place during a Legends League Cricket eliminator match, where he represented the India Capitals against the Gujarat Giants. Gambhir played an exceptional innings, scoring 51 runs off just 30 balls, including seven fours and one six. His contribution played a crucial role in India Capitals’ victory in the T20 competition that features former players.

During the match, Gambhir found himself in a confrontation with his former teammate, Sreesanth. After hitting Sreesanth for a six and a four, the fast bowler gave him a long stare, which didn’t sit well with Gambhir.

Gambhir, who recently returned to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as a mentor for the upcoming IPL season, expressed his deep connection with the franchise. Speaking to ANI, he shared his hope of delivering for the team and repaying the love he received from the people of Bengal during his previous tenure with the two-time IPL champions.

Returning to a place filled with emotions, memories, hard work, and love from the people of Bengal, Gambhir sees it as a new start and an opportunity to give back. He served as the mentor for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for two years, during which the team finished third in both seasons. However, they were eliminated by Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians in the playoffs of the 2022 and 2023 seasons, respectively.

Gambhir’s association with KKR from 2011 to 2017 is considered the golden period of the franchise, as he led them to IPL glory in 2012. Now, he aims to bring back the same success and joy to the team in his role as a mentor.

With his return to KKR, Gambhir is ready to embark on a new journey and hopes to repay the love and support he received from the people of Bengal. The 42-year-old cricketer is eager to contribute to the team’s success in the upcoming IPL season.
