Vir Das Stopped at Bengaluru Airport with Emmy in Hand – Discover the Reason Behind It

Actor-comedian Vir Das recently experienced a humorous encounter with security staff at Bengaluru airport. Das, who won his first International Emmy for his Netflix special “Vir Das: Landing,” was stopped by the staff during a security check. In a post on X (previously Twitter), he shared the incident.

According to Das, one of the officers asked if the award in his luggage was an idol with sharp edges. Das clarified that it was an award and not sharp. The officer then asked to see the award, and Das showed it to him. After seeing it, the officer congratulated Das and asked what he does for a living. Das replied that he is a comedian and tells jokes.

Das shared the amusing exchange on social media, where users expressed their joy for being a part of his happiness. One user commented on the small updates that Das shares, calling them “damn nice.” Another user found it funny how getting an award for spreading happiness and smiles can be surprising. Numerous users congratulated Das and praised him for bringing smiles everywhere, even at security checks.

Vir Das is known for his work in films like “Go Goa Gone” and “Delhi Belly.” His winning Netflix special, “Vir Das: Landing,” explores the concept of being globally connected while searching for a home. It is worth noting that his previous stand-up special, “Vir Das: For India,” was also nominated for an International Emmy in the best comedy category in 2021.
