Delhi Man Stages Shooting Incident to Falsely Implicate Lenders

A 43-year-old man in Delhi allegedly orchestrated a plan to frame lenders in a false case by getting himself shot at with a country-made pistol, according to the police. The man reportedly asked his 19-year-old nephew to fire a bullet at his arm and dispose of the weapon in a nearby pond. The investigators later recovered the weapon.

The incident took place on Friday morning in Kodhi Colony, Tahirpur of Nand Nagri, and the police received a call regarding a man being shot at near an agricultural land. Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy Tirkey stated that a team was immediately dispatched to the location.

Upon arrival, it was discovered that the man, identified as Sundar from New Seemapuri, had sustained a gunshot injury on his right upper arm. An empty shell of a (point)-315 bore was also found at the crime scene. Sundar’s nephew, Himanshu alias Anshu, was present with him during the incident.

According to the man and his nephew, they were feeding fish at the pond when an unknown person approached them, verbally abused Sundar, and shot him from behind. Sundar was rushed to GTB Hospital for treatment, and his condition is now stable.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Sundar had a financial debt and intended to implicate certain individuals in the shooting incident. Further interrogation led to his nephew, Anshu, confessing that he had shot his uncle as part of their plan. Anshu had strategically placed an empty shell at the crime scene to make it appear genuine. He then disposed of the country-made pistol in the pond.

The police managed to recover the pistol, along with the empty shell, from the pond. The investigation is ongoing.
