Police Arrest Cop on Charges of Allegedly Raping Relative in Pilibhit, UP

A police officer has been arrested in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly raping a 26-year-old woman. The incident occurred when the victim was alone at her home on Monday. Her relative, Anand Kumar, who is a provincial armed constabulary (PAC) jawan, visited her house and allegedly raped her. The victim stated in her complaint that when she started shouting, the accused locked the room from inside. However, the woman’s niece, who heard the noise, locked the room from outside and called the neighbors.

Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the house and arrested the accused. An FIR has been filed against Anand based on the victim’s complaint. Anand is a PAC personnel currently stationed in Bahraich. The Sungarhi SHO, Sanjiv Shukla, confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway.
