Miraculous Success: 17-Day Tunnel Operation Ends in Jubilation for Rescuers

In a remarkable rescue operation that captivated the entire nation, 41 workers were successfully brought out of a collapsed tunnel in Uttarakhand after being trapped for 17 days. The complex engineering operation involved multiple agencies and required contingency plans when drilling machines failed to penetrate the debris.

National and disaster relief forces, along with the Indian Army, police, and various other agencies, worked tirelessly to free the trapped men from the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand. Tunnel expert Arold Dix played a crucial role in advising the government and agencies throughout the rescue process.

“Yes, we faced criticism for our slow progress, but our main objective was to save lives. We were extremely cautious in our approach and considered how each action could impact the overall operation,” he stated.
