LG is introducing a new foldable PC called the LG Gram Fold. This device can function as both a tablet and a laptop, featuring a touchscreen and an OLED screen with a resolution of 2,560×1,920. The laptop can be folded in half, with the top half serving as a 12-inch laptop screen and the bottom half providing a virtual keyboard or the option to attach a physical keyboard included in the box. The LG Gram Fold is priced at 4.99 million won (approximately $3,690) after promotional pricing and will initially be released in South Korea.
When unfolded, the LG Gram Fold can be used as a large 17-inch tablet or monitor. It supports stylus input and can also be used with a Bluetooth keyboard. The laptop is lightweight, weighing only 2.76 pounds (1.25 kg), and has a thickness of 9.4mm (0.37 inches) when unfolded. A promotional video on LG’s website showcases the portability and versatility of the foldable design, including using it as a tablet with a wireless keyboard.
LG is not the first company to release a laptop with a folding screen. HP recently announced its Spectre Foldable PC. However, the LG Gram Fold sets itself apart by running on Intel’s 13th-gen Core processors, placing it in the high-end laptop category.
Key specifications of the LG Gram Fold include a 17-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2,560×1,920, a 13th-gen Intel Core i5-1335U processor, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, a PPI of 188.2, a 72Wh battery with 65-watt charging support, three stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, and two USB-C ports.
