Revanth Reddy Sworn In as Telangana Chief Minister, 11 Ministers Join Cabinet

Revanth Reddy has been sworn in as the Chief Minister of Telangana after leading his party to a comfortable victory in last month’s Assembly election. The 54-year-old took his oath at a grand ceremony held at Hyderabad’s LB Stadium. Joining him were eleven of his colleagues, including Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who was sworn in as Mr. Reddy’s deputy.

The ceremony was attended by senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, as well as Mallikarjun Kharge and chiefs of various state units.

The Congress’ Gaddam Prasad Kumar, who won the Vicarabad Assembly seat, will serve as the Speaker.

1. Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka: A Congress veteran and the Leader of the Opposition in the outgoing Assembly. He delivered 11 out of 12 seats in Khammam district.

2. Uttam Kumar Reddy: A party loyalist and former Air Force pilot, he is a seven-time election winner. He resigned as Lok Sabha MP from Nalgonda before the election.

3. Sridhar Babu: A Congress loyalist who was Chairman of the party’s manifesto committee. He was also a MLA in the undivided Andhra Pradesh government and served as the Minister for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs.

4. Ponnam Prabhakar: A former Karimnagar Lok Sabha MP who won the Husnabad seat.

5. Komatireddy Venkat Reddy: A veteran with over three decades in the party, he won the Nalgonda seat.

6. Damodar Raja Narasimha: The former Deputy Chief Minister of (undivided) Andhra Pradesh, he won the Andole Assembly seat.

7. Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy: Elected to the Khammam Lok Sabha seat in 2014, he won the Palairu seat.

8. Dana Anasuya: Popularly called Seethakka, she won the Mulug Assembly seat. She was previously a member of a Naxalite group before joining politics.

9. Thummala Nageswar Rao: Previously with ex-Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrabau Naidu’s TDP, he won the Assembly seat from Khammam district.

10. Konda Surekha: A seasoned Telangana politician, she won the Warangal (East) Assembly seat.

11. Jupally Krishna Rao: He was elected to the Kollapur Assembly seat for five consecutive terms starting in 1999.
