A man from California has been hit with a total of 18 felony charges following the collapse of his luxury rental car theft operation. Kendall Clark, the alleged culprit, reportedly stole over $1 million worth of cars by paying for a one-week rental. However, instead of returning the vehicles, Clark would inform the owners that the cars were no longer registered under their names. The Riverside Country District Attorney revealed that the 25-year-old would then proceed to sell the stolen cars to different dealerships in California’s Riverside County. To make the transactions appear legitimate, Clark provided forged or “washed” titles indicating a change in ownership. Among the stolen vehicles were a 2022 Chevy Corvette, a 2015 Lamborghini Huricán, a 2017 BMW i8, a 2020 Lamborghini Urus, a 2021 Porsche Cayenne, and a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. Fortunately, all of the stolen cars have since been returned to their rightful owners, according to the District Attorney’s office. The release from the District Attorney also mentioned that Clark is currently under investigation for other potential crimes. Anyone with information relating to the case is urged to contact the authorities at 951-290-1923.
