Teamsters Leader Vows to Attend Meeting with Mullin in Full Football Gear

Teamsters President Sean O’Brien expressed his willingness to meet with Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) in a civil manner, but jokingly stated that he would wear his football gear for protection. O’Brien made these remarks during an interview with Fox News’s Neil Cavuto, highlighting their shared history of playing football.

The comments from O’Brien come after his ongoing feud with Senator Mullin reached a boiling point earlier this week, with Mullin challenging O’Brien during a hearing. Cavuto questioned O’Brien about accepting some responsibility for the escalation, to which O’Brien responded that such incidents should never occur in the first place.

Cavuto pressed further, asking if O’Brien would have engaged with Mullin if other lawmakers hadn’t intervened to prevent further confrontation. O’Brien explained that if Mullin had physically threatened him or anyone in his vicinity, they would have the right to defend themselves. However, he emphasized that avoiding such situations is his objective moving forward.

O’Brien clarified that he has not spoken to Mullin and there are no plans for a coffee meeting. Nevertheless, he expressed his willingness to have coffee with anyone, despite their differing rhetoric or violent tendencies. O’Brien added that while Mullin may have personal issues to address, his focus is on improving America, working together, and moving forward.

Mullin’s office responded to O’Brien’s comments by indicating the senator’s openness to a meeting. A spokesperson for Mullin invited O’Brien to Google their office address anytime, anywhere.
