Bengaluru Woman Experiences Disturbing Groping Incident in Packed Metro, Shocking Account Shared on Reddit by Friend

A woman in Bengaluru was groped by a man in a crowded metro, according to a Reddit user who shared the harrowing incident. The user sought advice on how to handle such situations and received help from the online community.

The Reddit user, known as @proteincarbs, detailed the incident involving her friend. The friend usually takes a bus to college but decided to take the metro on Monday. In a lengthy post, the user explained that at around 8:50 am at Majestic, the metro was unusually crowded, with a lot of pushing. The person in charge of managing the crowd allowed an unusually large number of people onto the train.

The user wrote, “After a while, my friend began to feel very uncomfortable. She soon realized that a man in a red shirt, standing right behind her, was touching and grabbing her from the back. She could literally feel his nails.”

The friend initially didn’t understand what was happening, but when she turned around, the man quickly fled. She started screaming and crying for help, but no one seemed to care.

Seeking guidance, the user asked if there were CCTV cameras inside the metro or at the station and where to access the footage.

One user responded, saying that if a complaint is filed, action will be taken because the metro is fully under CCTV surveillance. They suggested tagging @cpronammametro in a tweet to report the incident. Another user confirmed the availability of CCTV footage but mentioned that it might require some effort to gain access. They recommended reaching out to a specific person for assistance.

A third user shared a helpline number for complaints related to stations, security issues, travel, recharge, and tokens. They also commended the user for taking the initiative and advised providing emotional support to the friend.

Other users encouraged the reporting of the incident and suggested involving social workers and the police to ensure the perpetrator is caught and the incident receives media attention.
