BJP MP Caught Red-Handed as Mahua Moitra Exposes Flagrant Violation of Lok Sabha Rules

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has once again targeted Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, this time citing a Lok Sabha document to support his claims. According to the document, replies to questions asked by MPs should remain confidential until they are answered in the House. Dubey used the Hindi idiom “chori fir seenazori” to describe the consequences of revealing such confidential information, stating that it could have implications for the industrial sector and national security. He referred to a Lok Sabha order dated November 10, which emphasizes the importance of maintaining confidentiality in these cases.

The allegations against Mahua Moitra involve her allegedly receiving monetary benefits and gifts from businessman Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for asking questions in Parliament. The Lok Sabha Ethics Committee has recently recommended her expulsion as an MP.

Earlier, Nishikant Dubey wrote to Speaker Om Birla, accusing Moitra of accepting bribes from Hiranandani to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi and business rival Adani Group with her questions. Moitra is also accused of sharing her Parliament login credentials with Hiranandani so that he could post questions on her behalf. Moitra has denied these allegations, stating that there are no regulations regarding the sharing of login and password.

Dubey shared screenshots from a Lok Sabha bulletin that provides information “relating to Parliamentary and other matters.” The document states that replies to Starred Questions are uploaded on Members’ Portal by 9:00 am on the reply day, while replies to Unstarred Questions are uploaded on the Lok Sabha Homepage immediately after Question Hour. It also emphasizes the need for members to maintain the confidentiality of these replies and not share them with others until the Question Hour is over.

The BJP took a swipe at Mahua Moitra, claiming that she has not been properly briefed by a personal assistant like Hiranandani. Hiranandani himself has admitted to using Moitra’s login credentials and has called it a “crazy error of judgment and deeply regrettable.”

The situation is currently awaiting a response and further developments.
