Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi has condemned actor Mansoor Ali Khan’s distasteful comments about his co-star Trisha Krishnan. Khan’s remarks, made in a video interview, were widely criticized for being sexist, disrespectful, and misogynistic. In response, Chiranjeevi took to social media to express his support for Trisha and called out Khan’s remarks for reeking of perversion.
Chiranjeevi’s post on X (formerly Twitter) stated, “My attention was drawn to some reprehensible comments made by actor Mansoor Ali Khan about Trisha. The comments are distasteful and disgusting not just for an Artiste but for any woman or girl. These comments must be condemned in the strongest words. They reek of perversion. I stand with Trisha and every woman who has to be subject to such horrid comments.”
Trisha later reposted Chiranjeevi’s message, thanking him for his support. The incident has sparked outrage among social media users, who found Khan’s remarks unacceptable. Singer Chinmayi Sripada, actress Malavika Mohanan, and Leo director Lokesh Kanagaraj were among the other prominent figures who criticized Khan’s comments.
In his video interview, Khan had stated, “When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought that I could carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes in a number of movies and it’s not new to me. But these guys didn’t even show Trisha to me on the sets during the Kashmir schedule,” as reported by ANI.
Trisha responded to the video, calling Khan’s remarks vile, disgusting, and in bad taste. She vowed never to work with someone as pathetic as him and criticized his derogatory comments. Despite the backlash, Khan issued a statement denying any mistreatment of Trisha and claiming that his comments were taken out of context.
The Tamil film industry’s Nadigar Sangam has temporarily banned Khan, while social media users continue to express disappointment in him. However, Khan has refused to apologize to Trisha for his comments. The incident has once again highlighted the need for respect and equality in the entertainment industry.
