Delhi Minister Reveals Contingency Plan in Case of Arvind Kejriwal’s Arrest in Liquor Policy Case

Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj of the Aam Aadmi Party has accused the denial of bail to Manish Sisodia and the subsequent summons to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate as a way to punish AAP politically. Bhardwaj expressed his views in an exclusive interview with NDTV. When asked about a Plan B in case of Kejriwal’s arrest, Bhardwaj stated that there have been no discussions about it and that Kejriwal is their leader and they will continue to work under his direction.

Bhardwaj admitted that the Supreme Court order was a setback for the party but believed that it undermined the allegations made by the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation. The Supreme Court rejected Sisodia’s bail plea, who is the main accused in an alleged liquor scam, stating that a money trail of Rs 338 crore has been tentatively established in the case.

According to the court’s 41-page order, there was a carefully planned conspiracy to ensure certain individuals made significant profits. The policy facilitated bribes from wholesale distributors who were guaranteed excessive profits.

Bhardwaj mentioned that the questioning of Kejriwal was expected and questioned how Manoj Tiwari knew about it in advance. Tiwari had mentioned in an interview that Kejriwal would be next in line for arrest. Bhardwaj believes this indicates a political script at play.

Overall, Bhardwaj’s interview shed light on the political motivations behind the denial of bail and the summons to Kejriwal, emphasizing the party’s commitment to their leader while acknowledging the setback caused by the Supreme Court’s ruling.
