During the wedding season in Delhi, the police department has released a traffic advisory to help commuters plan their routes and avoid congested areas. The advisory includes a list of roads, such as Mandir Marg, Palaam Road, and Matadin Marg, where heavy traffic is expected. It is estimated that around four lakh weddings will take place in Delhi over the next three weeks.

The advisory was shared on social media with a caption that urged people to follow it in order to avoid any inconvenience. The post includes a detailed traffic advisory that informs commuters about the routes where heavy traffic is anticipated.

The following roads are expected to experience a heavy volume of traffic: Mandir Marg, NH-48 from Dhuala Kuan to Rajokri, Palam Road, Matadin Marg, Bijaswan-Najafgarh Road, GT Road, Rama Road, Shahdara, Chattarpur Mandir Road from CDR Chowk to Y-Point, Dera Mor Road, Sonia Vihar, Pusta Road, 100 Foota Road from T-Point Anuvrat Marg to Y-Point, and Ring Road from Azad Pur to R/A Punjabi Bagh.

The Delhi Traffic Police also provided a general list of instructions to the public, which includes using public transport like DTC Buses and Delhi Metro to reduce road congestion, parking vehicles only in designated parking lots, avoiding roadside parking that obstructs traffic flow, practicing patience and following traffic rules and directions given by traffic personnel at intersections, and planning journeys in advance to avoid inconvenience.

In India, approximately 38 lakh weddings are scheduled to take place between November 23 and December 15. The wedding season, starting on Dev Uthan Ekadashi and ending on December 15, is considered auspicious for matrimonial celebrations. Dates like November 23, 24, 27, 28, and 29, as well as December 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, and 15, are regarded as favorable for weddings.
