A senior police officer in Delhi revealed that the boy who brutally stabbed a 17-year-old teenager more than 55 times in the Welcome area of east Delhi showed no remorse for his actions. The officer stated that the boy was callously enjoying his dinner, using the money he had stolen from the victim when he was apprehended by the police.
After receiving reports of the murder, the police quickly formed multiple teams to track down the culprit. They collected information from local sources and the crime scene area, leading some locals to identify the boy. When the police arrested him, he was found nearby, eating his dinner with the stolen Rs 350.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Joy Tirkey, mentioned that they have requested the Juvenile Justice Board and magistrate to try the 16-year-old boy as an adult due to his criminal history. The police also revealed that the boy is being interrogated in connection with two other murders, two snatchings, and one robbery.
The horrific incident, captured on CCTV, showed the boy choking the victim before stabbing him multiple times and even performing a celebratory dance in front of the camera. The motive behind the attack, according to the boy’s confession, was a demand for money to buy biryani from the unsuspecting victim, whom he did not know.
The victim’s family has demanded capital punishment for the minor offender.
