Delhi Wife Allegedly Bites Off Husband’s Ear in Violent Altercation, Legal Action Initiated

A case has been filed against a woman in the Sultanpuri area of outer district in Delhi after she allegedly bit off her husband’s right ear during a fight, according to the police. The 45-year-old victim stated that the upper part of his ear was dismembered as a result of the bite, requiring him to undergo surgery. Following the treatment, the victim lodged a complaint against his wife.

The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the woman under Section 324 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertains to voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means. The incident is currently under investigation.

According to the complainant, the altercation began when he went to throw garbage outside the house on November 20 at around 9:20 am. Upon returning home, his wife started arguing with him over an unspecified issue. The argument escalated, and the wife demanded that he sell the house and give her a share so she could live separately with their children.

Despite his attempts to reason with her, a verbal spat ensued. In the midst of the altercation, the wife attempted to hit him, but he pushed her away. As he was leaving the house, she grabbed him from behind and bit his right ear so forcefully that a portion of it was severed. His son rushed him to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Mangolpuri for treatment, and subsequently, he underwent surgery at Jaipur Golden Hospital in Rohini.

The police were informed of the attack on November 20 by the hospital, prompting them to dispatch a team to investigate the matter. Apart from the headline, the article has not been edited by NDTV and is published from a syndicated feed.
