Former Idaho Teacher Arrested for Allegedly Raping Teenage Boy
Jessica Lawson, a former high school teacher in Idaho, has been charged with two counts of rape of a victim between the ages of 16 and 17. According to reports from the Idaho State Journal, East Idaho News, and Local News 8, Lawson was arrested during a traffic stop while a teenage boy, who she is accused of raping, was driving. Police allege that Lawson had given the boy drugs and alcohol, resulting in her being too intoxicated to drive.
Lawson, 36, taught at South Fremont High School before her arrest. Court records reveal that she is also facing charges of delivering a controlled substance and dispensing an alcoholic beverage to a minor.
On November 6, the teen was pulled over by police for a taillight violation while driving Lawson’s car. The teen informed the officer that he was driving because Lawson was too drunk to do so, according to court documents. Police also discovered that the teen had marijuana in his possession.
Later that day, the boy’s parents called 911, reporting that Lawson had picked up their son the previous night and taken him to her home. The teen told police that Lawson had provided him with alcohol and marijuana before engaging in sexual activity.
Lawson has denied giving the boy marijuana or having any sexual contact with him. She is currently being held in custody on a $250,000 bond. It is unclear whether she has legal representation at this time.
