Ford is set to unveil two turn-key off-road performance builds at the SEMA show this year, one based on the 2024 Ranger and the other on the 2024 Bronco. As competitors like Chevy, GMC, and Jeep seek ways to enhance their off-road brands, Ford is also looking to make its mark in the expanding 4×4 space.
Ford Performance has designed the off-road Ranger package specifically for overlanding enthusiasts. It will be available on XLT and Lariat models equipped with four-wheel drive. The package includes an ARB suspension kit, ARB front and rear bumpers with extra recovery points, an onboard air compressor, SOLIS lights, and an optional refrigerator/freezer.
In contrast, Ford’s approach to the Bronco focuses more on performance. The package for the Bronco features a 2.0-inch lift with a Bilstein suspension upgrade and 17-inch white wheels fitted with 35-inch tires. Additionally, the Bronco package includes unique software calibration for the 2.3-liter engine. While Ford hasn’t disclosed if this results in any power or torque improvements, the package also comes with a Borla cat-back exhaust, suggesting some tuning may have been necessary. Other accessories include an ARB jack and mount, as well as an underhood air compressor. This package is available for the Bronco Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, or Outer Banks models with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, regardless of the transmission.
Both packages can be ordered through the Ford Performance Parts website or a local dealer’s parts department. Pricing details will be announced closer to the retail availability, which is expected to coincide with the arrival of the 2024 models in showrooms.
