Although considered a long shot from the start, Scott managed to secure support from major donors, entering the race with a substantial war chest. However, his performance in the party’s presidential debates failed to stand out, leading to a decline in both state and national polls. Additionally, his financial situation deteriorated in recent months. Scott’s withdrawal from the race could potentially benefit other candidates, such as former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, who is trying to challenge former President Trump, who has consistently led the polls by a significant margin.
