A tense Senate HELP Committee hearing turned chaotic on Tuesday when Senator Markwayne Mullin, a former Mixed Martial Arts fighter, challenged Teamster boss Sean O’Brien to a physical fight during O’Brien’s testimony. The exchange began when Mullin read aloud a tweet by O’Brien from June, in which he called on Mullin to stop his tough-guy act during Senate hearings. Mullin responded by stating, “This is a time, this is a place. We can be two consenting adults. We can finish it here.” O’Brien swiftly accepted the challenge, saying, “Would love to do it right now.” The confrontation escalated as both men exchanged heated words, with Mullin even standing up and reaching for his wedding band. However, Senator Bernie Sanders intervened, urging Mullin to sit down and reminding him of his responsibility as a United States senator. The incident was captured in a video that was shared on social media.
