Hamas Announces Potential Truce Could Occur Within 24-48 Hours, Negotiations Ongoing

There might be a new truce between Israel and Hamas soon, as suggested by the Palestinian terrorist organization this Sunday morning. They indicated that if Israel agrees to their conditions, an agreement could be signed within the next 24 to 48 hours. The conditions include the return of displaced Palestinians to northern Gaza and an increase in humanitarian aid. Negotiations will be held in Cairo, Egypt this Sunday.

Simultaneously, negotiations are ongoing in Cairo, with representatives from Hamas, Qatar, and the United States present this Sunday. A source close to Qatar informed Le Parisien on Saturday that the agreement could be in effect before Ramadan, with negotiators striving to reach a consensus by Monday.

On Saturday, a high-ranking American official stated that a truce agreement in the Gaza war was ready and waiting for Hamas’s approval. He revealed that Israel had more or less accepted it and that a six-week ceasefire could start today if Hamas consents to release a specific group of vulnerable hostages. However, this information is yet to be officially confirmed by Israel.

The initial phase of the proposal includes a six-week ceasefire and the release of 42 hostages in Gaza in exchange for Palestinians held captive by Israel.
