Israelis Unite in Mass Protests as Outrage Escalates over Ongoing Conflict

The protests, which occurred alongside a recent poll revealing that over 75% of Israelis believe Netanyahu should step down, highlighted the growing public anger towards their political and security leaders.

Despite the surprise attack by Hamas in southern Israel on October 7th, resulting in the death of approximately 1,400 individuals and the hostage-taking of at least 240 people, the prime minister has not yet taken personal responsibility for the failures that allowed this tragic event to occur.

During the rally held in Tel Aviv, Manuela Rotstein called upon the government to exhaust all efforts in order to bring back the abductees. Ofri Bibas-Levy, who had her brother’s family, including two young children, kidnapped, also demanded that Israel cease its assault on Gaza.

Bibas-Levy emphasized the urgent need for intervention, stating, “This is a humanitarian crisis, a violation of the laws of war, and it must be halted immediately. We urge the Red Cross to enter Gaza and assess the situation, providing us with a list of the individuals present to determine their condition, whether they are alive or deceased, and if they are in a stable state.”

The voices of these protesters reflect the growing frustration among Israeli citizens, who are demanding accountability and swift action from their leaders in the face of these troubling events.
