Jon Voight Expresses Disappointment with Daughter Angelina Jolie’s Anti-Israel Stance
Actor Jon Voight recently voiced his disappointment with his daughter, Angelina Jolie, over her anti-Israel position regarding the ongoing conflict in Gaza and Israel. Jolie had taken to social media to share her thoughts on the matter.
In her first post, Jolie referenced her extensive work with the United Nations in support of refugees and emphasized her focus on people displaced by violence in any context. While acknowledging that the events in Israel were acts of terror, she argued that they could not justify the loss of innocent lives in Gaza due to bombing.
In a subsequent post, Jolie shared a photo depicting what appeared to be the aftermath of an Israeli strike in the Gaza Strip. She described Gaza as rapidly turning into a mass grave as a result of Israel’s airstrikes and criticized the collective punishment of Palestinian civilians, including women, children, and families. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, over 9,000 Palestinians have died in the conflict thus far.
In response to his daughter’s comments, Voight shared a video on both X and Instagram. Sitting in front of an American flag, he expressed his disappointment with Jolie’s lack of understanding of God’s honor and truths. Voight argued that the conflict was about destroying the history of God’s land, the Holy Land, which belongs to the Jewish people. He believed that the Israeli army must protect their soil and people, emphasizing that this was a war and would not unfold in a civil manner as the left might expect.
Voight also denounced the October 7 terrorist attacks by Hamas, stating that innocent babies, mothers, fathers, and grandparents were targeted. He further accused Hamas of wanting to wipe out Jews and Christians, calling them animals.
Raised Catholic, Voight revealed in a previous interview that he felt a genuine responsibility to stand up against anti-Semitism due to his childhood exposure to a Jewish community in Scarsdale, New York. He also expressed his belief that Palestinians had not been neglected over the years and had received significant financial support, which they did not share with the people but instead used to manufacture weapons out of rage.
Before concluding his video, Voight urged people to recognize that Hamas was responsible for destroying their own people, not Israel.
