Kimi Räikkönen’s Unusual Behavior Revealed

The F1 series is starting its third year without Kimi Raikkönen, who retired after the 2021 season. Despite this, the 2007 world champion is still a significant figure in the F1 world. The official account of the F1 series honored him on Monday with a gif animation, using the phrase “The Iceman is coming,” referencing a play by Nobel Prize winner Eugene O’Neill.

The post was a throwback to seven years ago, reflecting on Räikkönen’s adventurous journey through the desert, a moment the F1 series had previously highlighted in April 2017. The Finnish driver was shown walking through the desert in full racing gear in 37-degree heat, an act only “The Iceman” could pull off. The photograph was taken during the Bahrain GP’s first practices, where Räikkönen had to abandon his Ferrari after only six laps due to an overheating turbo. He then had to walk through the sandy track to reach the pit, eventually getting a lift on a scooter.

The Bahrain GP has been part of the Formula One calendar since the 2004 season, marking 20 years since the first race. The F1 series commemorated this milestone by sharing photos of the winners from two decades ago, including Ferrari, Michael Schumacher, Jenson Button, and Fernando Alonso.
