Google is gearing up to release its new flagship smartphones, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The company updated its Google Store site earlier this month, providing details on the upcoming phones. Promo videos of the new devices have also leaked online. Additionally, a leaked promo photo suggests that Google may offer a free Pixel Watch 2 for those who pre-order the Pixel 8 Pro.
According to the Google Store landing page, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will be available on October 4th. The page describes the phones as featuring advanced Pixel cameras and Google AI capabilities to enhance user experience.
The use of artificial intelligence is a key highlight of the new devices. The phones will include AI-powered photo-editing tools such as Magic Eraser and Photo Unblur, as well as features like Live Translate. A leaked promo video revealed even more AI features for the cameras, including Video Boost and Audio Erase.
The Google Store also teased the upcoming Pixel Watch 2, which will launch on October 4th as well. The smartwatch will offer personalized help, safety features, and health insights. Another leaked promo video showcased the integration of Fitbit features into the Pixel Watch 2, including a skin temperature sensor, improved heart rate data, sleep tracking, stress analysis, and a Safety Check feature that alerts emergency contacts if the user fails to respond to a timer.
The first Pixel Watch was released last year, and the new iteration is expected to have a 24-hour battery life. Google has scheduled an event for October 4th to officially launch the new phones and smartwatch.
It’s important to note that Google has not yet commented on the leaked promo videos.
