Legal Expert Warns Ivanka’s Testimony Could Have Dire Consequences for Trump

Ivanka Trump’s testimony in the New York civil fraud trial involving her father and brothers had a detrimental impact on her family, according to legal analyst Norm Eisen from CNN. Speaking with host Wolf Blitzer, Eisen stated that Ivanka “threw him under the bus” by not defending the financial statements in question. She claimed that she neither prepared nor reviewed them, distancing herself from any responsibility. Eisen also noted that Ivanka used several “I don’t knows” and “I don’t remembers” to protect herself during the questioning.

Eisen pointed out a significant moment during the New York Attorney General team’s examination of Ivanka, referring to it as a “Perry Mason moment.” He explained that the trial has revolved around dishonesty, and the team confronted Ivanka with evidence that her father had demanded personal guarantees from his children. This contradicted the notion of it being a personal guarantee, as it involved Ivanka and her siblings guaranteeing their father instead.

During her testimony, evidence was presented that showed her father’s agreement with Deutsche Bank. In exchange for low interest rates, he was required to sign a personal guarantee, stating that he would cover all principal, annual and operating income, and confirm a minimum net worth of $2.5 billion. Ivanka and an executive from the organization acknowledged in an email exchange that this requirement posed a problem for her father. However, he later informed the bank that his net worth exceeded $4 billion.

Overall, Ivanka Trump’s testimony in the civil fraud trial had negative implications for her family members, as she distanced herself from the financial statements and failed to provide the support her father may have expected.
