Massive Fire in Maharashtra Pharmaceutical Factory Claims 8 Lives, Leaves 3 Individuals Unaccounted for

Eight bodies have been recovered following a massive fire that broke out at a pharmaceutical company in Maharashtra’s Raigad district. The search for three missing individuals is still ongoing. The fire started at 11 am on Friday at Blue Jet Healthcare in MIDC Mahad, around 170 kilometers from Mumbai, according to a National Disaster Response Force official.

Four bodies were found by 7 am on Saturday, and another four were recovered by 5 pm. These eight bodies are part of the 11 people who went missing during the fire. The search operations, involving local agencies and the NDRF, are continuing to locate the remaining three individuals.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit, which led to the explosion of barrels containing chemicals at the site, further intensifying the blaze, the official stated.
