Mysterious Death of Yehudit Weiss, Hamas Hostage Discovered Near Gaza Hospital

The body of Yehudit Weiss, a 65-year-old Israeli woman who was kidnapped by Hamas on October 7, was found near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, according to the Israeli Defence Force. Weiss was one of the 240 hostages taken by the Palestinian group during their surprise attack on Israel. Israeli forces discovered assault rifles, including AK-47s and RPGs, as well as other military equipment near Weiss’ body. In an attempt to find information related to the hostages, hundreds of Israeli soldiers and bulldozers surrounded Al-Shifa hospital, alleging that Hamas had established a base and secret tunnel beneath the facility.

1. She was abducted from her home near Kinnutz Be’eri in South Israel on October 7. Weiss and her husband, Shmulik Weiss, were hiding in a safe room when Hamas operatives dragged them out, resulting in the death of her husband and her subsequent capture.
2. Weiss worked in community kindergartens, specifically managing their dining rooms. She was also trained as a nurse.
3. She was a mother to five children, four of whom lived in Israel and survived the Hamas attack.
4. Prior to her abduction, Weiss had been diagnosed with breast cancer and was in urgent need of radiotherapy to manage the disease. Unfortunately, she did not have her medication with her when she was kidnapped.
5. According to a Facebook post by the Bring Them Home group, Weiss was described as a “loving full-time grandmother” who enjoyed activities such as reading books, traveling with friends, baking cheesecakes, and watching plays with her five grandchildren.
