Renowned technology brand OnePlus has recently unveiled its special edition ‘smartphone’ named OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition, in collaboration with the interactive entertainment brand HoYoverse. The unique selling point of this phone is its design inspired by the character Keqing, from the popular game Geishin Impact and its performance, which has been optimized for gaming.
OnePlus, the Chinese technology giant, recently showcased its latest OnePlus 12R smartphone, along with the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Buds 3 wireless headphones, at a global launch event that also marked the 10th anniversary of the company, which boasts of a user base of 68 million smartphone users and 28 million users of its other devices, including watches and tablets.
According to OnePlus, the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition is a “custom-made” version specifically for the ardent fans of the Genshin Impact game. The design of the phone, crafted in collaboration with HoYoverse is modelled after the video game character Keqing.
The OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition utilizes colors that are emblematic of the character Keqing, such as the Electro Violet, used predominantly on the phone’s rear. The phone also flaunts a matte glass finish and is adorned with motifs from the video game in metallic hues.
The design of this ‘smartphone’ also incorporates a unique engraving process known as Electrogravure, which allows the engraved characters to reflect light. OnePlus has utilized this technology to engrave the name ‘Keing’ on the top edge of the phone, allowing it to reflect on nearby surfaces when light hits it.
OnePlus has also highlighted the smartphone’s ability to deliver top-notch gaming graphics and visuals. The phone is equipped with OnePlus’ new proprietary performance platform known as HyperRendering from Trinity Engine which enhances the lighting effects by optimizing the GPU and display, thereby offering “real HDR graphics” and a richer content viewing experience.
Complementing this technology is the phone’s ProXDR screen, which boasts a refresh rate of 120Hz and 4th generation LTPO, supporting Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) dimming up to 2160 Hz and a screen brightness of up to 4,500 nits. The phone is also compatible with Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and has received TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care certification. It also offers durability and safety with the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
Furthermore, OnePlus has optimized the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition to offer the “ultimate gaming experience.” The phone features HyperBoost and custom Trinity Engine tuning, which significantly enhance the loading speed of games and reduce latency. The smartphone also boasts a touch response speed of 1,000 Hz.
With the Trinity Engine CPU-Vita technology the smartphone is designed to recognize various scenarios in the Genshin Impact game and adapt the CPU performance accordingly, balancing performance and energy consumption efficiently. This enables the device to run at an average of 59.4 FPS for more than an hour without generating significant heat.
This special edition offers faster boot and app switching speeds thanks to the performance accelerator, RAM-Vita memory, as stated by OnePlus. This allows the smartphone to keep the Genshin Impact gaming app running, along with up to six other apps in the background, for up to 72 hours.
Another important feature of the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition is its advanced connectivity, facilitated by a high-performance 360-degree gaming antenna, ensuring a “fast, smooth and stable” connection.
The OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor and offers 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The phone’s battery capacity is 5,000 mAh and it supports SUPERVOOC 100W fast charging. The phone also features dual speakers with Dolby Atmos.
Besides its ‘hardware’ design, the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition comes with a customized version of the OxygenOS 14 operating system that features game-inspired themes. Users can customize the user interface to include system application icons, an Electro Element animation loading icon, and an Always-On Display, among other options.
Additionally, this special edition includes a collectible gift box that contains items and accessories for video game enthusiasts such as a ‘Lightning Stiletto’ SIM card extractor, a purple charging adapter, and a purple USB-C charging cable that lights up with a purple LED light.
The new OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition is now available for purchase at a price of 749 euros in Spain.
