PM Narendra Modi: Past Governments Regarded Themselves as ‘Mai-Baap’ of Citizens

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has criticized past governments for considering themselves the “mai-baap” (parents) of citizens and working with a vote bank mentality. Speaking during an interaction with beneficiaries of the “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra,” he emphasized that his government’s focus is on uplifting the poor, youth, women, and farmers, as their progress will lead to India’s development.

The “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra” is an ongoing nationwide initiative aimed at ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach all targeted beneficiaries in a timely manner. PM Modi expressed his confidence in his government, stating that people have witnessed his work over the past 10 years and have immense trust in the government’s efforts.

He highlighted the lack of basic facilities for a significant portion of the population due to previous governments prioritizing political gains and vote banks. PM Modi emphasized that his government has changed this approach and now considers the people as a form of God. The current government works with a sense of service rather than focusing on power.

During the “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra,” PM Modi observed people’s enthusiasm and participation, with many identifying the campaign as the “Modi ki guarantee wali gaadi” (Modi’s vehicle of guarantees). Over 12,000 panchayats have been reached, benefiting more than 30 lakh people.

PM Modi also announced the expansion of the Jan Aushadhi Kendras initiative, which provides subsidized medicines, from 10,000 to 25,000 centers. He inaugurated the 10,000th Jan Aushadhi Kendra at AIIMS, Deoghar and launched the “Drone Didi Yojana,” which aims to provide drones to 15,000 women self-help groups for rental services to farmers.

The Prime Minister concluded by highlighting the nationwide sentiment that his guarantee begins where people’s expectations from others end. This initiative is seen as a people’s movement and is gaining momentum across the country.
