In a tragic incident in Bengaluru, a 23-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband, who suspected her of having an affair. The husband, identified as D Kishore, is a policeman. Three other individuals have also been arrested in connection with the woman’s death.
According to reports, the husband first consumed a poisonous substance in an apparent suicide attempt before strangling his wife, Pratibha S. The couple had recently welcomed their newborn baby boy on October 28, and Pratibha was staying at her parents’ home in Hoskote Taluk while Kishore lived in Chamarajanagar, approximately 230 km away.
The father of the deceased woman expressed his anguish, labeling his son-in-law a “psycho.” He stated, “We thought he was a good man when we married our daughter to him, but he turned out to be a criminal. We demand justice and punishment for him. I don’t want any other girl to suffer like my daughter did.”
Pratibha, who held a degree in Computer Science, had been married to 32-year-old Kishore since November of the previous year. Her father also alleged dowry demands made by Kishore.
The tragic incident unfolded on Monday when Pratibha discovered 150 missed calls on her phone. Later that day, Kishore arrived at her parents’ house and trapped her in a locked room, where he ultimately took her life. At the time, Pratibha’s mother was on the roof of the house, according to the police.
Reportedly, before fleeing the scene, Kishore confessed to his mother-in-law, saying, “Kondu bitte avalna, kondu bitte (I killed her, I killed her).”
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the authorities are looking into all aspects of the case. The tragic loss of a young life has left the community in shock and mourning.
