The leader of Women Wage Peace, an Israeli peace activist, who was believed to have been kidnapped by Hamas terrorists, has been identified five weeks after her death. Forensic investigators have confirmed that the remains belong to Vivian Silver, a 74-year-old woman who was killed during the October 7 attacks in southern Israel carried out by Hamas terrorists. According to a post on the Women Wage Peace page, Silver had sent a message early on October 7 stating that terrorists had entered her home in the kibbutz. She had hidden behind a cupboard door and had not been heard from since 11:07 a.m. The post suggested that Silver had most likely been abducted by Hamas terrorists and taken into Gaza.
The organization described Silver as a dedicated peace activist who had been transporting sick Gazans from the border checkpoint to Israeli hospitals for many years. She was also involved in various other peace organizations. The Israeli Defense Forces have released a video showing evidence of Hamas weapons and tunnels that connect to hospital basements.
