Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Ashok Gehlot, and Sachin Pilot were seen together in Jaipur, creating a show of unity ahead of the November 25 election. In a video shared by news agency ANI, the three leaders were seen engaging in a playful “pehle aap, pehle aap” (you first) moment, where they were asking each other to walk in the front. Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra was also present. After a few moments of this exchange, the leaders resumed walking.
As the media called out to them, Rahul Gandhi approached them and emphasized that they are not just seen together but are actually united. He expressed confidence in the Congress party’s victory in the elections. Chief Minister Gehlot was seen smiling as Gandhi made these remarks.
This display of unity is crucial for the Congress party as it tries to defend its rule in Rajasthan. One of the major challenges for the party has been the infighting between the Gehlot and Pilot factions, which almost led to the collapse of the state government in 2020. The party is working hard to present a united front and ensure that this internal conflict does not affect its electoral prospects.
Both Gehlot and Pilot have repeatedly stressed that the party is united in its fight against the opposition BJP. Gehlot even shared a picture with Pilot on social media, captioned in Hindi as “Together, we are winning again.”
Rahul Gandhi arrived in Jaipur with his mother Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday. Sonia Gandhi is visiting Rajasthan on a personal trip to escape the severe air pollution in Delhi.
