Rajasthan Election: Over 40% Voter Turnout Recorded by 1 pm; Live Updates and Latest News

Polling for 199 out of Rajasthan’s 200 seats will take place today from 7 am to 6 pm. However, the election in Sriganganagar’s Karanpur seat has been suspended due to the unfortunate death of Congress candidate and incumbent MLA Gurmeet Singh Koonar. A total of 1,862 candidates are contesting the elections, and there are approximately 5.25 crore voters. Among them, 1.71 crore voters are between the ages of 18 and 30, and 22.61 lakh are new voters from the 18-19 age group.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded seven MPs, including Rajyavardhan Rathore, Diya Kumari, and Kirodi Lal Meena, for the Assembly elections. Voting In Rajasthan Underway, Eyes On Key Constituencies, Candidates

As the polling began in Rajasthan, all eyes will be on the key constituencies of Sardarpura, Tonk, Jhalarapatan, Nathdwara, Jhunjhunu, Jhotwara, and Churu among others.

Sardarpura is considered a crucial constituency as Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has been winning this seat since 1998. The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Mahendra Singh Rathore from the Congress’ stronghold.

Jhalarapatan is another important constituency where the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate and former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje is contesting. She has been winning this seat since 2003.

“Lotus Will Bloom In Rajasthan”: BJP’s Vasundhara Raje

Former chief minister Vasundhara Raje expressed confidence that the BJP will emerge victorious in the assembly elections in Rajasthan. She believes that the “lotus will bloom” when the votes are counted on December 3. Responding to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s remark about an “undercurrent,” Raje agreed and stated that there is indeed an undercurrent in favor of the BJP. She called upon all voters, especially new voters, to cast their votes as it will be important for the prime minister and the nation.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot stated that there is no anti-incumbency against the Congress party, and he believes that the party will form the government in the state once again. He mentioned that there seems to be an undercurrent in favor of the Congress, and the government is likely to be repeated. Gehlot attributed the Congress’ success to their focus on development issues, while criticizing BJP leaders for using provocative language. He expressed confidence that the public has understood and that the Congress government will come back.
