Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film “Animal,” featuring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, had an impressive start at the box office. The movie was released in theaters on Friday, coinciding with Meghna Gulzar’s “Sam Bahadur.” According to Sacnilk, “Animal” raked in an astounding Rs 61 crore on its opening day. The report mentioned that the film earned this amount across all languages in India. The Hindi version of the film collected over Rs 50.50 crore, while the Telugu version earned Rs 10 crore. As per the Sacnilk report, “Animal” had an overall Hindi occupancy of 62.47% on Friday.

Renowned Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh also shared the film’s exceptional performance at Indian theater chains on Twitter. However, “Animal” received mixed reviews from film critics. Saibal Chatterjee, a film critic for NDTV, gave the film a rating of 1.5 stars out of 5. He praised Ranbir Kapoor’s powerful performance, supported by Anil Kapoor’s usual flair. However, he criticized the film for relying on problematic means and instincts, which overshadowed the efforts of the two stars.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for his work on “Arjun Reddy,” “Animal” also features Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimrii in significant roles. The film faced competition from Vicky Kaushal’s “Sam Bahadur” at the box office.
