Russian Residents Transform Nova Kakhovka into Waste Site, Equipped with Machine Guns on Residential Roofs

The Mayor of Nova Kakhovka in Kherson Oblast, Volodymyr Kovalenko, has stated that there are hardly any Russian officers left in the district, despite the constant attacks from Russian forces. In an interview with Pryazovia News, a Radio Liberty project, Kovalenko revealed that the city is frequently rocked by explosions and residents are cautious about venturing out unless necessary. He further explained that, based on his updated information, only regular soldiers and sergeants remain on the front line, with the officers retreating to safer areas.

Kovalenko highlighted the severe restrictions imposed on the residents, stating that certain streets are completely off-limits due to the danger posed by the invaders. Those who violate this ban are fired upon without warning. He cited the park area as an example, which has been heavily fortified with concrete structures and mines, resembling a dump. Additionally, mortars and machine guns have been strategically placed from the ground floor up to the rooftops of residential buildings.

The situation in Nova Kakhovka remains dire, with the constant threat of Russian fire and limited mobility for residents. Kovalenko’s comments shed light on the ongoing hardships faced by the community and the continued presence of Russian forces in the area.
